Our mission is to develop and administer programs which will help to improve the quality of life for needy persons of all ages. Given the unacceptable level of child poverty in Canada – particularly in Montreal – our initial focus is on children. The importance of education in ending the poverty cycle is well recognized. To enable children to learn, they must be properly fed. Generations Foundation presently service 46 schools, 6 learning centers. Other services are provided to 6 group homes. Each November, Generations Foundation seeks volunteers to secure new toys and gifts to wrap and personally deliver to approximately 4,000 schoolchildren. On referral from CLSC’s, schools and police community officers, food baskets are also prepared for families in crisis. Generations Foundation believes in bridging one school year to the next. Each summer, children are sponsored to a stay at a summer camp approved by the Quebec Camping Association where 300 inner-city children enjoy meeting new friends, build self esteem and conquer new challenges.
