December 6 Fund of Toronto

The December 6 Fund was created in response to the Montreal Massacre, which left 14 women dead. As a result the Fund was created to provide interest free loans to women in abusive relationships. One of the things that makes it difficult for some women to leave abusive relationships is a lack of money: the December 6 Fund provides it. Once a woman has moved out and is self-sufficient she then pays the loan back to the December 6 Fund. By donating to the December 6 Fund you allow them to give out more loans and help more women in need.
